@blacktelephone yeah, black screen then the little gray screen that popped up and basically says "Hi, I'm your Mac, I'm leaving now"

yikes! Speaking of MBPs, mine just black-screened and had to be rebooted. I have NEVER seen that happen on any Mac. Freakin' me out.
