I'm going to drug myself right now with a nice cup of chamomile tea, a good escapist novel and my honey kitteh who purrs as loud as I snore.
I guess I just expected better from the BBC. It wasn't a *bad* series, but it tried to mix objective and hip and ended up failing at both.

@happywidget I didn't say morality wasn't important, I said it was less important to me than science, particularly for a "documentary"
I've never seen anything other than alcohol, tobacco, caffeine and taurine in Japan, Scandinavia, Spain, and France.
well here in Tucson you just walk down certain streets and you'll be offered pot, coke, crack, meth, heroin (back with a vengeance again).
The BBC program claimed that Marijuana is tried and used regularly by more people around the world than any other "illegal" drug.
Specifically, it's crack cocaine. About 2-3 years ago I began to see it all over the place except for Japan. It freaks me out!

In my travels I've been offered by dealers or witnessed use of one illegal drug more than any other- US, CA, AU, NZ, UK. Which drug is it?

@CarlosZenteno I feel we're just doing the same things over and over again without learning. Einstein defined that behavior as insanity.
Not very impressed with the BBC drug series, not very scientific, moralistic. I'm more interested in science than morality, personally.
Meth is all over Tucson. Not long ago I heard a sonic boom (air force base nearby) and my first thought was "there goes another meth lab!"
Glad meth isn't big in Britain. It has *no* redeeming qualities. Marijuana, cocaine and MDMA all have legitimate medical applications.

@girlie_mac wow, you're more obsessed than me! Great fun last night with everyone chatting about great guitarists. :)
@kahara Here now in most places too. Any potential ingredient for cooking meth is off the shelves and a purchase quantity applies.
@kahara Cultural preference? I'm not sure how a preference for a drug is cultural. Do you mean in terms of access to a given substance?

@stevenwaters86 Oh yes, the National Geographic piece - watched it on Netflix.

@nashwebgirl That's why we need each other :)

@slauriat Nope. Everyone of them needs cleaning and repairs. I can't get in to my luthier for three weeks :(

@cathig_sci The JavaScript course is teaching me I know a lot more about JavaScript than I thought, in theory if not practice. :)

@meghanmdee what makes Gervais your obsession? He's cute and sometimes funny. What is it that appeals to you about him?
