As I understand it, a "savant" has a primary brilliance. How do we define people who are brilliant at most everything but fail w/out focus?

How are the Tubes these days? Still outrageous? Girls/Boys/WhoKnowsWhoCares riding in on motorcycles? "Don't Touch Me There!"

For me it was Aqualung first. Then I went back,
@wangjammer5
. Then I went forward to Songs From the Wood which I revere.

It's fun to just talk music for a while. I need that. FYI: I'm a Lapsed Musician who comes home to all her guitars staring at her. So thx.

no, and the Tubes definitely came later. From PHX perhaps, but I first saw them with Re Styles in Passaic, N.J.

No, I mean Tony Levin, with his stick. Who's in King Crimson now? They still rule? Help a 60's-born fan out. Thanks,

Here's a great version of "Ripples" from the album "Trick of the Tail" from post-Gabriel Genesis in Rome

From Genesis to Revelations up until Trick of the Tail (which was the first w/out Peter Gabriel) it was all brilliant IMO

I love in later King Crimson how Robert Fripp sits kinda offstage, Adrian Belew plays the poet, Tony Levin rocks that crazy bass stick.

November 16, 1977 Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Poughkeepsie, New York. Rush: Farewell to Kings. I'd never seen a 3 piece band rock like that.

Another band that adapted pretty well to a point was Genesis. From 1969 also through, at least IMO, Trick of the Tail as a cohesive work.

King Crimson figured out how to adapt. From 1969 to 1981 they went through so many changes yet still had impact. After that, I don't know.
