CSS grew out of DTP, @rarepleasures. That didn't help us at all when we had to solve implementation for browsers, beasts they are!
I'm just the messenger! Don't yell at yer Mols :( @stefsull
Yes, absolutely, CSS grid frameworks can be helpful now, but we still have to solve layout in CSS. So use frameworks carefully. /@codemonkey

"Tables are evil. Table layout is awesome!" - What I think Tab Atkins Jr. from Google Chrome said this week in the working group. Classic.

The other fact is that the one true grid system we've ever really had that works xbrowser is tables for layout. Oh the irony! /cc @stefsull

One thing on the near-ish horizon that will help with this is the Flexible Box Model, aka "flexbox" / @stefsull
The sad truth is we have no real layout system in CSS. You're working with floated or positioned boxes, which are limiting, @stefsull

@YourGoToGuy OMG! Classic corporate billing irony. Thank goodness this was just a credit. If they reverse it, I'll know what I'm in for ;)
Tucson flood pals - move to high ground and don't be stoopid while driving. I'm sending Noah and his ark (he vacations in Oslo) on down.
Wow, Sprint gave me 0.14 USD back for some billing error. Party's on me! (can you even get a piece of gum for that anymore?)

@labanjohnson I went out one night so far here in Norway and I think I have to take out a second mortgage. Not much offset here ;)
Replying to @therealwardo
@therealwardo I haven't! But I'm going to. It's still not HTML5 ;)
Replying to @grum
@grum yeah, yeah, I know all about angst-ridden boys and how we girls flock to 'em. Me, lots older, wee bit wiser. Still a sucker for charm.
Replying to @iso100
@iso100 but that's not HTML5! :P
Replying to @rem
@rem That explains her response! Poor girl.
When HTML5 can offer drag n' drop so I can drag the text from this package of Norwegian soup mix into Google translate, then I'll be happy.

@jaredrichardson Sadly, that doesn't surprise me in the least :/
