Yay! @williamsonj Good on you for asking the questions in a public forum. This is how we help each other learn and grow, yes?
BTW @dtex Twitter etiquette has evolved to a point where telling people how they should or should not use Twitter is considered unsavory.
Sorry @williamsonj last tweet was for you. For IE you'll want to grab @rem's HTML5 shiv: http://html5shim.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js

Floats are not part of HTML5! Floats are in CSS. In your CSS, denote HTML5 structural elements as display: block; - and float away.

Blogs are so ten years ago @dtex. Or hadn't you heard?
This is not realistic, it's antithetical to interoperability and all the things HTML5 by design was meant to avoid.
The problem is the way various companies are describing HTML5 and related tech is based on their own implementations and interpretations.

Yes, that it's become an umbrella term, and large companies are using HTML5 as a buzzword that equates to "good" @songcarver @ZenPsycho

Personally, I'm deeply distraught at the misappropriation of "HTML5" into "everything web standards" - it's damaging as hell IMO.

The Web Standards movement has influenced how every major player now uses Web standards as selling points. Good result or bad? Discuss.
It's time for another hand-typed loving reminder to all webdevs who use devtools to take the Opera DragonFly survey http://bit.ly/b8sAbJ

@dylanparry Dylan, a halter top on me? Seriously? That would defy the laws of gravity and probably cause me to suffocate!
Replying to @rachelandrew
@rachelandrew You know, you just made me feel better. It's cuz I didn't have on my glasses, it's not my aging mind (work with me here ;)
Replying to @john_ivanoff
@john_ivanoff I put the shirt on backwards before someone started their afternoon fry-up.
Replying to @chrisbodman
@chrisbodman was it just a little in the corners, or was it encrusted all over your lips? :P
Replying to @pekingspring
@pekingspring somehow I think I could walk up to you with half your face covered in shaving cream and not even notice. Maybe it's just us.
Replying to @fakebaldur
@fakebaldur That's what constructive feedback is, silly! Not an exercise in awe, but one in flaw.
