@johnallsopp that isn't a pure laugh track, believe it or not. Big Bang Theory is performed before a live audience, so it's prolly a mix.
@naterkane not only that, but the namespace demarcation comes in CSS3 for the universal selector. Not a high priority for most implementors.

the problem @ryanbarr is of course inconsistent implementations of all CSS as we begin to break down by browser and browser version.
Hey @ryanbarr. In theory the universal selector in CSS2.1 matches any element in the tree. CSS3 allows namespaces, giving more control (1)
