Replying to @jc
@jc Dear JC, please help web standards, amen. So funny!

@bdsexton And yes, we have meetings every week, with the issues we are discussing and actions we are taking. I want this to be visible.
@danschulz But that window has been closed again, largely due to changes and shifts within the company. BillG got openness. Many fear it.
@danschulz when it comes to the MS issue, there was a window (rimshot) where diplomacy was possible, so diplomacy worked (see IE8 standards)
Now must apologize to @soandso because he really exists! Was just using the name as an example. :)

@danschulz I'm not fond of RT's, personal thing. I encourage you to pass along the info in your own words, or quote a portion (via @soandso)
So, one issue I'm bringing up at the CSS WG F2F is more public information re our work. Would folks like to see regular tweets from the WG?

@KeriHenare On the other hand, slow-to-implementation issues undermine a lot of the W3C's work. I think the infrastructure of W3C does, too.
Replying to @KeriHenare
@KeriHenare you asked whether I think HTML5 "undermines the relevance of the W3C" - I don't see it that way. HTML5 is being spec'd under W3C
Replying to @rgnelivic
@rgnelivic I think that's a great idea. I went through the writer's market guides early on in my career, and look what happened to me!
FYI: I'm not anti-Microsoft, I'm anti-only-proprietary. I work very closely via the W3C with MS and retain wonderful friendships within.
When a W3C member signs membership, they promise to work cooperatively with the specs they help to author. This doesn't always happen.
Replying to @JoeC
@JoeC again, a lawyer could better answer that. But I easily see the difference between a core OS engine and a closed, proprietary one.
Replying to @JoeC
@JoeC I don't disagree. I'm just saying how software and browser devs look at it. Any lawyers have insight into anti-trust?
Replying to @moon
@moon I don't know about heaven. I do know we are physiologically reduced in fairly standard ways.
Loves that when Twitter's Web interface throws an error, the favicon makes the title read "terror" ha!

Maybe I should have written "We must protect what little standards we have" :P
@SailorJ Congrats on mastering da toast! Some day we should co-present. Cousins for the Web (cFTW!)
I'm not convinced that legal action is the most honorable way of solving these problems, but it is the system. We must protect standards.
@JamieLeSouef This is not to say there aren't a million reasons Apple (and others!) couldn't be hauled into court over similar issues.
