the same is true, btw, for JavaScript - without a strong document, we are at a disadvantage to create the most effective style and behavior.
I have permanantly injured my voicebox saying this "great CSS begins with great markup" - and that means really understanding markup.
Replying to @rguy84
@rguy84 to be semantic and minimal, just use h1 and then break hierarchies down from there. We all have a tendency to over ID / over class.
Replying to @mwiik
@mwiik the original conversation was about ID names. I think I lost the plot somewhere along the way, however.
IOW, i can id any element I want #h1logo. The selector h1 corresponds directly to the element <h1>main heading</h1> you guys need my class.
Replying to @matijs
@matijs I would disagree, m'dear. h1 selects an h1, of which it is recommended by many to use only one of per doc. #h1logo is ID not element

@bikehugger I know you love it when I do.
Replying to @ericaogrady
@ericaogrady h1 means one thing in markup: The highest level header. #h1logo is not an h1, it is an id selector with the name "h1logo"
Replying to @cheeaun
@cheeaun historically, we see <b> & <i> available in (X)HTML strict DTDs. I myself remain unclear on what is semantic about these elements.

@djlittle "next to no public transport in London" and that would be different how? Every time I'm in London something's not working ;-)
Replying to @barrybloye
@barrybloye I imagine parts of Brighton look beautiful in the snow. George IV's palace must be bizarre looking with its spires covered up.
Tweet of the moment goes to @jaylett for incorporating "sinosoidal effects" into his available 140. Impressive!
Replying to @Wheelz24
@Wheelz24 what? What? Are you not born to complain, particularly about weather? :P
Replying to @jaylett
@jaylett "like dropping a stone in a pond of Britishness" - how very poetic. And there's a pun in there sort of.
in all seriousness be safe and warm and dry out there!I will not dare to tell you this week's forecast for Tucson.
Headline "England disrupted by heavy snow" is the snow disrupting England herself? Will she be forever disrupted? Who writes this stuff?
Thinking one might imagine kitteh would want to contribute to cost of kibble by bringing her moms here a nice cup of tea. One might imagine.
doctor gave me a decongestant that has turned me into a zombie with narcolepsy. I have slept more in the last day than the last year!
Replying to @BubbaBlue71
@LeBomba I travel. I'm in little tin cans with hordes people and their stuff and needs and pathogens. It's sorta like teaching kids.
