Really, I like children. In my small triangle of the world ankle-biting refers to little mean dogs you have to shake off. SEMANTICS, kids.
Ankle biters are like fleas. They annoy you, maybe even antagonize you, but the only way to get rid of them requires a poison-filled collar.
@karmamusings Hmm, kids usually don't bite ankles. They grab onto them and scratch them plenty, which is ok.

defining the term "ankle biter" - I think it means someone so low they can't latch on to your ankles.
I'm a bit font despondent at the moment. Not that I was ever very good at typography in practice, but I do enjoy the study of type, fwiw.
