Years ago Jeffrey Veen gave a presentation at Los Alamos. It included a screenshot of a US Federal website. It comprised of two links, left 'have hay', right 'need hay.' It inspired in me an International ideal I call The Have/ Need Society. Utopian perhaps, but also practical.

There is no question that my passion for the open web given freely to the world and used for good, Human connection, Social improvement, better distribution of goods and services rather than extreme profiteering as we see today is a deep desire for Humanity to Unite not separate.

Having grown up part of the '70s and '80s USA drug culture I can honestly say there was only one substance abuse problem and it was late Life alcohol binge drinking. No other substance caused more problems than that and what came off of prescription pads. I stopped by stopping.

Anyone in the USA with half a brain could figure this out yet we get worse and worse with this problem than do nothing. We did the same with climate change and look at us now. My suspicion is we will never surpass these problems and perhaps they are even desirable to some.

Take prescription rights away from anyone not fully trained in proper use of opioids would be a good start. Never abandon an existing patient. Restrict all opiates to Surgical use, intractable pain syndromes, end of life. Prohibit direct to consumer marketing of drugs in USA now.
3
Most opioid problems in the US start at the primary care or general physician level. Not specialists for the most part. Pain patients are then dropped with no social support and turn to the streets. Substance abuse is not discriminatory. It happens to anyone of any demographic.

I am Pro decriminalization of every drug. Adult use not brought into the social world and kept at home is none of my business. But fentanyl is not a drug. Like alcohol and nicotine it is absolutely a poison. 2 mg can kill. 2021 saw more overdose deaths in US history. Get real.

To this day primary care physicians say how are you not in pain management you need to go and get pain management and I refuse. I have known heroin users who used for a lifetime and lived full lives. Fentanyl has caused more deaths in the last year in the US than in US history.

When I became an oncology hematology patient in 2013 the oncologist said you're going to be a pain and very sick get your medical cannabis card. Primary Care said you're going to be in pain and very sick I'm going to prescribe the fentanyl patch. Fuck no was my impulsive response

Rainbow Fentanyl hit Tucson early and hard. Kids are targeted more for distribution purposes than specific use. Far sicker and unacceptable in an age where we are doing nothing about an opiod crisis on a social level. Make big pharma distribute narcan widely for free is a start.

In fact, @Trevornoah pissed me off recently with commentary regarding fears about Rainbow Fentanyl being marketed to kids and including the expungment of prisoners with non violent crimes involving Cannabis. His facts are skewed and the two issues are not even closely related.

I have not found a current late night host I find I consistently like. John Stewart's political stance I greatly admire, Colbert's relentlessness too. Trevor Noah is bright, but not that funny to me. Conan was too silly, no one else grabbed my attention in US or anywhere really.

Of course I grew up with Johnny Carson but it was David Letterman who became my favorite late night talk show host. Such new appreciation for Johnny Carson's incredible ability to interview anyone from Carl Sagan to a young Frank Abagnale. Who's your favorite late night host?

It's interesting to find my most visited and enjoyed website has become YouTube. talks, courses, presentations, historical and philosophical topics as well as great music, especially live gems I've never seen. I didn't know for example Prince was such a remarkable guitar player.

The first week of October this year was my second worst. October 1st 2017 death of my mother followed immediately by the Las Vegas Massacre. I heard shot and every scream echoing up and down the strip followed by 2 days of darkness and absolute silence. Bring the better please!

Amgen made the drug that saved my life which is related to this anti-radiation drug being shipped around USA as Japan watches North Korean missiles flying overhead. Meanwhile I'm singing The Age of Aquarius and pretending it's a nice day. How about you? greekreporter.com/2022/10/06…

I asked if he was alive she said yes I asked if he was okay she said no I have no idea what that means but she's going to call me later and they want to pay me back which is nice but I feel very sorry for those parents. Weird. Strange. And with tragic mysterious undertones

His father was unable to reach him so the parents called the police and law enforcement either had him in custody already or knew how to find him I just get a call from a very distraught and sad sounding mother who said she saw that he had basically stolen money from a few people
