I’m not against UBI. It doesn’t address the fundamental flaws of trickle down economics, therefore we shouldn’t see it as the ultimate fix. I said that in my last campaign as well. But as a temporary stopgap measure, I have no problem with it.
This week on On Brand, Marianne Williamson @marwilliamson discusses what steps need to be taken for the United States to get back on the right path.

I see the military like a surgeon. If we need to have surgery, then, of course, we should have the best. We must always be prepared for that. But a reasonable person tries to avoid surgery at all costs
Our Sec. of Defense should not be a military person (as with Trump’s) or someone who was a board member at a defense contractor (as with Biden’s - Sec. Lloyd Austin, is a former board board member of Raytheon *as well as* a General.)
This is *not* what any of us should want when we say we want “experienced people.” People experienced at the corruption inherent in the military industrial complex is not the kind of experience we need.
What we need is people experienced in calling stuff like that out, and who will refuse to perpetuate the madness.

We need universal healthcare, but we need more than that. We need to proactively create health, not just treat sickness.
That begins with the food we eat.
We need to push back the forces of Big Ag, Big Food and Big Chem when they devitalize and even poison our food to increase their short term profit.
Such industries have captured our government agencies, turning them into agents of "double advocacy." And it needs to stop.

For all the talk of "PROTECT THE CHILDREN" where are we on, say, 14 year old girls serving alcohol to drunk men in a pub? We think that's a good idea?

This should outrage any good person. Today the Supreme Court ruled that the Clean ***WATER*** Act does not apply to a large percentage of ***WETLANDS.***
Even Brett Kavanaugh dissented, saying the majority had “rewritten the Clean Water Act”.

The fact that someone has not served in office does not of itself mean they don’t know how government is run. I’ve been up close to it enough that I do know how it’s run, and that’s why I’m concerned enough to run for the office myself.
People have an almost Wizard of Oz notion of government experience. I’m not running to be the wizard, I’m running to help pull down the curtain.
Absolutely. If he had chosen a different kind of person to work with him, if he himself had been a different kind of man, things would have been very different. Experience wasn’t the issue; character was the issue.
I hear that and I understand your position. Mine is the opposite, however. I don’t agree that only those whose careers have been entrenched in the car that drove us into this ditch should be the only ones we consider qualified to drive us out of it. If anything, I think we need someone who is not a part of that system.
I’m entry-level at what they bring. But they’re entry-level at what I bring.
