The United States should be convening, along with other nations, an emergency international conference to discuss an alternative to the war in Gaza.
Destroying Gaza will not serve Israel. The world itself has a vested interest in finding a better way.

The people in the kibbutzim were civilians as well. Hamas absolutely set out to kill civilians, and videos that they themselves put out show them laughing as they did so. I have never made excuses for systemic injustices on the part of Israel, but neither should we in any way minimize the brutality of Hamas.

According to this article, sexual violence is perpetrated against female prisoners by guards and other prison officials on a regular basis. Yet little to nothing is done about it.
The opposite should be the case.
Female prisoners are the most vulnerable population in the world and those who abuse them should not be protected by a prison-industrial boys club. They should be prosecuted severely. theguardian.com/us-news/2023…
