The thing about NFL players kneeling during anthem is this: in a way it’s a sign of respect, a message that “we can do better.” To tell players if they don’t want to stand they can stay off the field, is to force them to show disrespect when that wasn’t even what they were doing.

To me, kneeling emphatically IS a sign of respect - in terms of country and in terms of peaceful dissent.

The NFL players’ protests during the anthem has never been about the military or the flag. It has always been about police brutality Failing to protect the right of protest by ALL is not patriotic. Taking away their right to peace fully protest is not right

That this has even risen to another issue to debate is ludicrous, as is most (if not ALL) coming frm #45 . More revolt & sick actually. Pick yur poisonous idea for th day: NFL Players? Arm teachers? Give banks /wallstreet free reign, again? No to refugees? No to kids? Sick.

No, no it’s not.... That is NOT what it was a sign of! You can twist this however you want to make yourself feel better, but that most certainly wasn’t why they were kneeling.

Here's a wild idea - what do you ladies think - if the #NFL won't allow players to kneel - what's stopping the fans in the stands?? I'd do it and I've never been to a single game. Can you imagine a mass movement of fans kneeling if the players are forbidden?? #RESIST

Marianne, that is total BS! Those spoiled players have many platforms they could use to express their opinions! kneeling during the national anthem is nothing but blatant disrespect
