Not insane at all. The FDA has issued a black box warning that for people 25 years old and younger, anti-depressants can increase rather than decrease the risk of suicidal ideation.

Yes, and after the black box warning there was an increase in suicides from untreated depression. This suicide risk with certain antidepressants is a very small percentage, and that should always be taken into account.

Just trying to point out it’s a broader issue to be discussed with the doctor. Untreated depression can be fatal, and being informed about the science of treatment in totality is important.

That is my point. Human despair is not a medical or scientific issue; it’s a spiritual one. I’m not weighing in on bipolar or schizophrenia; that is not my purview. I am weighing in on issues of normal human despair that are now too often treated pharmaceutically.
