Biggest issue in politics is the disintegration of our democracy, partly by undue influence of money, partly due to the disengagement of too many people for too many years, and partly by a proactive assault on our democratic norms now being waged by President Trump & his allies.

Assault on democracy! It is statements like that that creates the polarization. You can disagree without demonizing. When you make the other evil you on the road to justifying hate. I am sad to see make such statements #returntolove

Danny, I’m not demonizing! An attack on the Free Press is an attack on democracy. Efforts at voter suppression are an attack on democracy. Undermining our most vital institutions is an attack on our democracy.

You see voter suppression, and I see voter legitimacy. You see attacks on the free press, and I see calling out false reporting. It is demonizing to claim the Prez is attacking democracy. Voter fraud and corrupt media undermine democracy.

OK explain to me. There’s something like .001% evidence of voter fraud & the president says that basically anyone who disagrees with him is fake news. So on what do you base your perspective? What is it that makes you willing to simply go along without any evidence to his claims?

For the president of the US to be concerned about voter fraud is appropriate. Voter ID and citizens only voting makes sense. Protects democracy. Media is not reporting great economic news and the defeat of ISIS. They report the drama of the day.

If there is scant evidence of voter fraud, then no I don’t see it as the job of the president to set up a voter fraud commission. And as someone who watches mainstream as well as left-wing media, I can tell you that there’s lot of reporting on economic news & the defeat of ISIS.
