Sen.Rand Paul is against Mike Pompeo for State because he says a diplomat, not a war-monger, should be Secretary of State; and against Gina Haspel at CIA because she's on record for having supported torture. Bravo to politicians when they take principled positions.

Please, don't give him too much credit. Once they find out he isn't voting for these two, the pressure will be on him. He will cave, as he always has done in the past.

I understand. I just think the principle he stands on NOW -- whether he caves in the future or not -- is something we should be aware of because he's right. Maybe he'll cave but we don't have to.
