To those who think politics should not be allowed to impinge upon a rose-colored spirituality, this quote from Gandhi speaks across the ages: “Is not politics a part of dharma too?” Wherever there is suffering to attend to, the people of God should be.

Spirituality is the voice of the heart. This has nothing to do with religion per se; it’s about compassion & ethics & love. And btw separation of church and state was meant to protect religion from governmental interference as much as to protect govt from religious interference.
