Forgiveness isn’t where we think someone else was a jerk but we’re so spiritual now that we deign to pardon them. Forgiveness means we extend our perception beyond the level of guilt and recognize the internal innocence within us all.

It’s acceptance of humanness. I can’t always reconcile myself to the magnitude of the hurt or anger I felt about the act but, at my deepest core, I know unkindness is born out of their pain. Therefore I understand. That’s my forgiveness sometimes. Forgiving humanness.

The meaning of forgiveness is in the mind of the beholder...
It wasn't until I forgave my abuser that I was truly free. And able to move on.
