Forgiveness isn’t where we think someone else was a jerk but we’re so spiritual now that we deign to pardon them. Forgiveness means we extend our perception beyond the level of guilt and recognize the internal innocence within us all.

Forgiveness really is for our own self healing. We release any negativity we feel towards the individual, thus freeing ourselves to love unconditionally.

I think those of us who have strong religious backgrounds grow up knowing this. What they usually don’t teach however, is that you can forgive, pray for and even bless someone and still say “I will not condone/ passively accept that behavior”.
