Mass shootings, while always shocking, are not even a surprise anymore. Given gratuitous violence in TV and movies, violence in video games, obscenely lax gun safety laws and a culture of things over people, they are an inevitable result of a society that needs to reclaim it soul

Respectfully, Marianne, the laws are not lax. Rather, enforcement is lax

The laws are lax. For a 19-year-old to be able to legally buy an assault weapon is disgusting.

馃檹馃徏 UK 16 FEBRUARY 2018 We banned the guns that killed school children in Dunblane. Here鈥檚 how After the massacre hit our town, we campaigned for handguns to be outlawed, and it paid off. It鈥檚 time America took the same approach.

An ar-15 is not an "assault weapon" in design. Tighter enforcement on background checks definitely needed. Again respectfully. We send 19 yr olds off to war. FBI failed on this one. Yes, agreed, a grievous condition with shootings, needing to be addressed
Think about your statement. 18- Military 19- Not old enough to own or purchase a gun. 18 is adult. Selfish Parenting has convinced children that being a child, avoiding responsibilities & accountabilities as long as possible is good. Now you鈥檙e seeing the fruits of your thinking.
