The issue isn't just DACA or wall or govt shutdown or any other specific, but rather the issue underlying them: an attack on the core values of open-heartedness & open-mindedness that America has at least tried to adhere to. If we surrender those values, we will have lost it all.

It is interesting that each side of an issue believe they are the ones who are open-minded and open-hearted. Every person has confirmation bias. An open-minded person is willing to consider I may be wrong and the other side may be right.

I agree with that. No one has a monopoly on the truth

So many issues... but the issues are just symptoms of a system that’s ready for an upgrade. Where can we best help with a systemic shift?

The system doesn’t need an upgrade so much as the system needs to be adhered to. The problem is not that it needs an upgrade but that we have allowed it to be downgraded. First order of business: the midterms in 2018

It's also an issue of tribalism - this us against them mentality is stifling. It doesn't matter if you're right or you have a good idea. Diplomacy is nonexistent, like children in a sandbox.

Seems extreme. If implemented and America isn’t satisfied, we may go back to existing policy or choose something else.

You are incorrect in your statements. We do. It want to close our hearts. Just the boarders to illegal immigration. How many illegals came across stole identity or other crime? A lot. Why can’t they fill out paperwork and do it the right way.
