The ascendance of an authoritarian President is a direct consequence of our failure to teach generations of Americans real civics and history. If you don’t learn the Bill of Rights, you don’t know to be appalled when it’s under attack.

I'm sorry Ms Williamson but this is your personal perception. I do find it odd that as much as you have learned over the years and teach you still judge, condemn and criticize. You make it quite clear where you stand politically. On another matter I truly enjoy all of your books

thank you. we need your voice now more than ever.
I believe this to be very true. We no longer seek to build a national feeling of community. There's no sense of country. We need to teach civics again, to make people understand that there are responsibilities associated with freedom and democracy. It's not a spectator sport.

The bill of rights is a global ideal, unfortunately all countries should be teaching their generations, this is not just an American issue

@POTUS is the equivalent to a parent telling a spoiled child no. Trauma is trying to make us a great country again. Not a welfare state who gives away our future to illegals and terrorists.

And many who are in the know re Bill of Rights choose to interpret it as a license to cruelly exploit people and resources in the name of freedom.

Unsure your intent really suggested current @POTUS is “authoritarian”, but there is HUGE difference between authoritarian and leading a country according to a majority. Perhaps you’re confusing it w/ coddling & cowering to minority rule.

Is it lack of knowledge or simply ‘party over nation’? I think it’s the latter.
