Love doesn't mean you can't have a healthy debate. Love doesn't mean you can't nonviolently disagree. And love doesn't mean that you can't say "No." Not all intellectual opposition is negative; sometimes it's how we get to a new synthesis.

Love is the answer. We can come to a new synthesis when we view the person we disagree with as a child of God who is full light. God is not for the democrat or the republican. The new synthesis will transcend political parties. It speaks with vision, ideas rather than judgement

So much of what is going wrong in our politics, our communities, our country & our world is that we have forgotten how to listen, talk, disagree & debate with mercy, respect & patience, so instead of reaching a deeper understanding too often we get further entrenched in a war.
