Several years ago, one of the richest men in America said to me "My taxes are so low it's obscene." Important to remember many of our richest citizens are champions of economic justice. This is not rich vs. poor, it's only justice vs. injustice. Everybody wins when everybody wins

You don’t hear too many rich people speaking up though. Income inequality is poor v rich. And in our society we idolize rich people and disdain poor people. Our policies and budgets reflect this.

I don't agree. It's important that we not personalize this. It's unjust SYSTEMS, not unjust individuals, that are redistributing the opportunities for wealth creation. Deeper problem is the legalized system of bribery that makes it possible. WE MUST GET THE MONEY OUT OF POLITICS.

So true - a person’s capacity to love is not determined by wealth or poverty. There is generosity and greed, kindness and cruelty, good and bad, in all walks of life.

Important to remember right now.

If only one of these rich men would put their money where their mouth is, we could have a fair tax system. The Koch brothers are a perfect opposite example. Yeats said it well: "The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.

Sadly, majority in today’s senate don’t care about American people! Only the top 10% matters to them!

"Many of our richest citizens are champions of economic justice" is just insulting. To criticize ALL rich people is obviously silly. But, to argue "many" of them are fighting for justice is naive. The wealthy make the rules. If they want to make them just, they can.
You're describing capitalism, a system which is built to allow the very few to control the great majority. What sane - or just - system would allow EIGHT PEOPLE to control as much wealth as HALF THE PEOPLE ON THE PLANET?

Give more, get more. As you reap so shall you sow. I am not sure this administration has studied any spiritual writings or really looked at science. The world does not produce in greed but reduces in greed. Please keep praying Thank you.

Great point. Also important to know that marginal tax rates FOR THE RICH AND CORPORATIONS are a completely useless number. All the exemptions, etc. are for their benefit, so while the bottom 80% of Americans get a token reduction, the rich and corps get a big haul with loopholes
