It's immoral to refuse to feed a hungry child. It's immoral to withhold from people basic tools they need in order to better themselves. It's immoral to give to the rich at the expense of the poor. Some things are not morally relative; they're simply the wrong thing to do.

It is immoral for people to have children who do not have the means to provide for them. It is immoral for people who will not work to provide the basic things they need. I am not against helping others in need. I am against taking care of them forever!

Replying to @67Leigh
Leonardo da Vinci's mother had no way to take care of him. And the vast majority of people on government assistance do not wish to be there. The demonization of the poor is a right wing strategy intended to justify robbing them.

My single Mother raised 3 kids with no help from my Father or the Government. I grew up poor, lived poor most of my life. Now I'm not poor. I didn't require "social justice" or charity to better my life. I don't deserve to keep what I earn?

My father grew up in poverty, became successful, and had the exact opposite reaction as you. He saw poverty as evil. He never forgot the Catholic university that gave a poor Jewish kid a college education, & vowed to forever emulate their generosity toward those who had so little

You are SO far removed from reality of abuse of gov鈥檛 assistance!!

I don't deny there's abuse of government assistance, but the vast majority of that abuse is on the part of huge multi-national corporations, banks, and the top 001 per cent. This tax bill is a perfect example .

I agree they come in all shapes and sizes; I don't romanticize the poor. But check out the human reality on the ground and get back to me.
