We're glorifying every micro aggression these days to the point where seriously huge transgressions seem less terrible. The power to accuse should be wielded proportionately, magnanimously and mercifully.

No. Instead of, say, focusing on how long we’ve been glorifying the accused, statements like these do nothing but delegitimize their victims’ accusations. 1/

Until now, society has rendered sexual assault victims' “power to accuse” worthless - since their accusations rarely saw the light of day, let alone got appropriately dealt with. 2/

I celebrate as much as you do that sexual assault victims are now heard. Many have worked long and hard to forge the path to this day.

My hope is that male victims can also find the courage to speak out. Sexual abuse goes both ways.

Then I'm legitimately confused... What is it about how these victims are wielding their power today - by way of their accusations - so that they can actually and finally be heard do you believe should be more proportionate, magnanimous and merciful?
