We all agree stealing is bad, but there a difference between shoplifting and bank robbery and we punish them very differently. We need to apply the same sense of proportion to sexual violation; not every jerk out there deserves to have his life ruined or his career taken away.

As. woman who myself has been a victim of sexual assault, I don't need a man to tell me what it means. But thank you for the mansplaining:)

You’re quite right about this, Marianne. It seems that people are having a hard time making the differentiation. We get the difference in your analogy. Seems the lines feel blurrier on these topics.

It will probably take a generation to work it out. We don't yet have the experience as a society to totally get it right yet.

In both stealing instances, the crime is on money. With ALL assault, the result is PTSD. There is already so much internalized shame/misunderstanding and saying one is "not as bad" as the other is what causes many people to not speak up. Please reconsider your thoughts on this💔

My point is that not all harassment is assault.

That #GOP would support #childmolesterRoyMoore over a sane choice, is repulsive to any consciousness. That #45 who is up to 16 or however many (Ive lost count) accusers is still in-office is contrary to decency & what USA has stood for. Surreal.

However some people's life must be ruined now and then to act as a deterent to sexual violations.

Translation: Sexual predatory behavior is acceptable as long as the person committing them is a Democrat working for your version of what you think is the common good.
