Some schools in America so undersupplied that they don't even have enough paper; in many cases, teachers themselves go out & buy the supplies they need. As though that's not bad enough, the new proposed tax bill eliminates the tax deduction they get for that! This is so immoral.

The tax deduction has actually been doubled to $500. blogs.edweek.org/edweek/camp…

Read the article! The Senate plan would double the deduction, but the House plan that passed today scrapped it entirely.

A travesty & a betrayal for teachers.

I am one of those teachers. We buy LOTS of supplies for our classrooms. Every year receive less than the year before. Need all the help we can get!

I hope the teachers unions can block this.

As a teacher’s wife.... and someone who worked in education, anyone in education for benefit of write-offs at tax time isn’t in it for right reason anyway!!!! I don’t know many like that... The benefits of tax cuts FAR outweigh the threat of not being able to write off $250/yr

Seriously??? Only been able to defuct $250/yr anyway...... tax cuts will give us WAY more than that in our take home pay!

The lack of empathy that is displayed for the working class people throughout this proposed tax bill is sickening.
