"Seeking a motive" silly after a while; psychotics don't need one. What we need to seek is a way to keep guns out of the hands of psychotics

It's worse than silly. It's a diversion from uncovering & facing the $11.7 BILLION profit motive of the guns & ammunitions manufacturers.

Right. We should be seeking SOCIETY'S motive -- for doing nothing. What troubled aspect of our national psyche does the status quo serve?

Clearly whatever the motive, it stems from Evil! What's a good way "to keep guns out of the hands of psychotics" according to you?

No, we really need to know the motive. Knowledge of it has social value. Only a TOTAL ban on guns can work. And I reject the idea of a ban.

Amen. (1) There is no criminal prosecution so "motive" is irrelevant. (2) It's a red herring. (3) You are 100% correct.
