Our national priority should be alleviation of all unnecessary suffering. Until then we will continue to move in an unsustainable direction.

When I was growing up, it basically WAS that. Then things got diluted.

I remember that, too. I think our parents generation was more ethical & empathetic, I think due largely to their experiences in WW2
