I took civics in hs in 1978 but that doesn't help me today. I think we need to teach them be informed. Kindness would be good requirement

Something I say all the time. So many young people know nothing about government, elections ,etc. it is a shame.

Agree but I question that date. I had the most boring civics teacher on earth (as dull as the 'Beuller, Beuller...' fellow) in Ohio in 1973.

We learned the general stuff in class but got our folks' opinions at home.
