America isn't a hateful country, but what hate there is here has been harnessed for political purposes. We must now do the same with love.

Not a hateful country? We have slavery, sharecropping, Jim Crow, mass incarceration, racism, etc bc there's so much love.

Some of what you listed occurred and were abolished. Those existing now are the challenge to our generation to remove.

Saying we are not hateful might make us feel good, but it ignores the lived experiences of the targets of the hate.
