Make no mistake about it. If something as intellectually basic as sociology is being removed from our educational curriculum, we are on the path to something seriously dystopian.
"The decision to remove sociology from Florida's core curriculum is a tragic blow to students’ intellectual freedom. It will prevent generations of students from being introduced to subject matter that is uniquely suited to address complex challenges." tampabay.com/opinion/2024/01…

If you can’t say something supportive of the ICJ today, this is why I wouldn’t vote for you to be dog catcher.

Oh my god, where will individuals interested in sociology be able to learn about it? They could be all retro and pick up a book or they could even take a break from the tik toks and fire up the ol’ google search 🤪

If they’d replace it with STEM I’d agree with them. No, we’ve had too much sociology, ok?

This already occurred with the corruption of sociology. It's not like a course called "sociology" is necessary for there to be good sociology material (in history, etc.). But the good sociology material was already dwindling. The problem is far deeper than this makes it look.
