The War on Drugs has completely failed to alleviate the problem it supposedly set out to solve. It has only created more problems, fueling mass incarceration and violence at home and abroad. We have spent $1 trillion and continue to spend $100 billion annually on the failed drug war, and over half of our incarcerated population is in prison because of drug-related charges. Time to end it. marianne2024.com/issues/drug…

What War on Drugs? There hasn’t been one and if there had been we wouldn’t have a drug problem.

What are you planning to do about the demand? I don't think we're solving the root problem until we talk about reducing demand

Red states need to be convinced an income based Medicaid Opioid Methadone/Suboxone program must be created. These people need a legal option to turn to. It’s hopeless without this in place in every state.

Do you think we should eliminate restrictions on all drugs? Will you elaborate on what a world without a drug war looks like?

Ma’am, have you heard what happened with coca leaf? It is so disgusting. Howard B. Fonda was a Big Pharma VP and he lied about coca to the UN, all the while Diamox is hitting the market worldwide. A drug that has more side effects than altitude sickness does miseries

Wonderful article, thank you for addressing such a complex and controversial issue. "Drug addiction is merely a symptom of an underlying malaise." This statement is absolutely true, and I wonder why most people don't realise that.

Why is this? Because "It Takes 2 to Tango," and drugs is like prostitution, gambling, and such. "Common Sense" crimes is where one is the perp who planned it, the other is the victim who did NOT choose it. Paths chosen by personal choice are hard to cover for.

May God bless you ma’am, according to the blessings that say, “blessed are the merciful, they shall receive mercy,” and the one that says, “blessed are those who tell the truth, they shall be sons and daughters of The Truth.”

My only child, my daughter Kaylah left American soil from opiates laced with fentanyl on September 9 2020. Her precious body was cremated on 9-11-2020. We have a problem here in America with hypocrisy and so many money loving lies. Angels let us heal this disaster. 🕯️ 🙏🏽 👼
