Governors all over the country are opting out of a federal summer food program for needy children. It is mind-boggling to me that States would say “Nah, no thanks” when we are talking about $40 a month to help feed a hungry child. These are the same forces in America that have no problem giving multi billion dollar subsidies to huge corporations. And the bigger irony? They often call themselves “pro-life.”
Gov. Tate Reeves’ office says Mississippi won’t participate in a federal summer food program for children because of his desire to reject “attempts to expand the welfare state” mississippitoday.org/2024/01…

$40 a month? Just like $600 for every Maui household...I will reject it too. Illegal aliens are given at least $2000 a month for breaking our laws, but you want Governors to accept $40 a month. I'm sure they can afford it and avoid the unnecessary propaganda that comes with it.

No to women in power. No to baby killers. No to Democrats.

It says the program is $40/ea and will help 21 million kids. That's almost a billion dollars a month. If the economy is so great, and everything is amazing as your party says, why is this necessary? Why are other fed. agencies starting up/bringing back/expanding welfare programs?

THERE’S ALREADY A FEDERAL PROGRAM: The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public & nonprofit private schools & residential child care institutions. It provides low-cost or free lunches to children each school day & summer.

You want to increase dependence on govt. More enslavement by the democratic party. Why are you against freedom?
