Governors all over the country are opting out of a federal summer food program for needy children. It is mind-boggling to me that States would say “Nah, no thanks” when we are talking about $40 a month to help feed a hungry child. These are the same forces in America that have no problem giving multi billion dollar subsidies to huge corporations. And the bigger irony? They often call themselves “pro-life.”
Gov. Tate Reeves’ office says Mississippi won’t participate in a federal summer food program for children because of his desire to reject “attempts to expand the welfare state” mississippitoday.org/2024/01…

In Pennsylvania, they'll take your children, charge you with endangerment if you don't pay your child's school lunch bill. Here's an idea we haven't tried, instead of cluster munitions for Ukraine we buy our kids lunch. Just a suggestion. 😒BTW that's the DNC solution. 🤫

@GovRonDeSantis and @FLLegislature turn down that money. They also turned down millions to help us with green energy, highway, safety, and infrastructure projects. They happily cut off our noses to spite Joe Biden.

No one is going to save us. The government works against the people every step of the way.

The mindset of the states that do this is poor people are inherently lazy & don’t want to be self sufficient. It restricts making dreams reality, punishes children for adult circumstances often caused by capitalism, denies children the chance to learn well, to become their best.
