Governors all over the country are opting out of a federal summer food program for needy children. It is mind-boggling to me that States would say “Nah, no thanks” when we are talking about $40 a month to help feed a hungry child. These are the same forces in America that have no problem giving multi billion dollar subsidies to huge corporations. And the bigger irony? They often call themselves “pro-life.”
Gov. Tate Reeves’ office says Mississippi won’t participate in a federal summer food program for children because of his desire to reject “attempts to expand the welfare state” mississippitoday.org/2024/01…

If government would stop spending foolishly, these programs could thrive. It's their own fault.

Once again the government should not parent the children. What kind of disgraceful parents are out there that can't feed their children?

Interesting that you just can't bring yourself to say one simple thing - what do governors of Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont and Wyoming have in common?

The reason to opt out is those federal funds come with demands to teach the marxist left wing “transgender” ideology. Some states opt to feed kids themselves and not brainwash them.

We don’t have the money any more. We’re spending all of the money that should help US citizens on foreign nationals who have illegally crossed our border.
