Governors all over the country are opting out of a federal summer food program for needy children. It is mind-boggling to me that States would say “Nah, no thanks” when we are talking about $40 a month to help feed a hungry child. These are the same forces in America that have no problem giving multi billion dollar subsidies to huge corporations. And the bigger irony? They often call themselves “pro-life.”
Gov. Tate Reeves’ office says Mississippi won’t participate in a federal summer food program for children because of his desire to reject “attempts to expand the welfare state” mississippitoday.org/2024/01…

This is disingenuous. This fed program was temporary and the states have programs already in place for communities that need assistance

If man could get pregnant , republicans would make abortions tax deductible.

Save the children from government food programs! They will definitely be unhealthy. Check out the ingredients allowed in formula. We don’t need anything else under government control. You cannot be focused on TRUE health and profits at the same time.

It has nothing to do with what food. It’s a $40 a month stipend.

Welfare must go to parents not children

“Governors all over the country” is a cop out statement. Are you afraid to speak the truth? “REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS are opting out” is the TRUTH. Why are you not leading new Suffrage movement to get women out to vote? Now, you’re just Jill Stein 2.0 and Trump thanks you.

article explains this program was started during covid, the state doesn't have the funds&staff to pay for 50% the feds don't cover, & will continue w/ their free food programs in place that have been since before & after covid, just choosing to not do both. Very slanted post.
