The fact that those loans ever existed was an egregious exploitation of America’s young. America should be setting our young people up to win, not cutting them off at their knees. The President could use the Higher Education Act to cancel the entire debt. Quality higher education should be the right of every American who academically achieves it.

I think it doesn’t even need to free, just affordable. If the loan system was better regulated to control costs, I think a lot of people would find that adequate.

We don't need these ridiculous partial attempts to fix our backward thinking in this country. Free higher education will benefit everyone except the rich elites, who know that the educated are harder to control and they need a working class they can control.

Student debt should not be cancelled. These students knew what they were getting into when they borrowed. It’s a slap in the face for those of us who worked two jobs and scrimped and saved and funded our education.
