Um, no, that's not classy; it's just good PR. Classy would have been, "We respect the decision made by Costco workers to form a union, and we look forward to a mutually constructive relationship."
Last week, employees at a Costco voted in favor of forming a union. Below is their classy statement in response 👏👏👏

I can't stress enough how terrible Costco is to work for. I worked for them for 2 years. They are extremely anti union. They want to be able to work their employees to death for low wages. Don't believe their lies. It takes years to make a decent wage at Costco. They lie A LOT.

Now the employees will receive the privilege of paying $80 a month to get the same treatment. They also get to enjoy the shittiest co workers being worshipped for doing less than the bare minimum that would get them fired anywhere else.

It was classy, and good PR. They could have said, "We're shutting them down"

I can't think of one specific thing a union did for me when I was a member other than make the company keep a lazy person who never worked while I worked my ass off to compensate. Yeah this IS a failure of management like Costco said.
Is Costco publicly traded? If so, that's actually a very well-balanced response given their legal obligation to shareholders. Such is the Catch-22 of modern neoliberal Capitalism.

You’re absolutely out to lunch. I don’t know why you resurface every 4 years.

Excellent, now Costco will be ruined. Not every workplace is the oppressed rising against their oppressors, Costco actually had/has great service to customers and employees alike.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy, and hopeful 2024. To finding courage and sharing strength, To New Year.🙏🙏
Costco is routinely ranked as one of the best places to work. This statement reflects their attitude, not yours.
