The issue of immigration at our Southern border must be dealt with not only on the level of symptom but also on the level of cause. U.S. policies have contributed mightily to the destabilization of economies throughout Latin America, fueling the desperation that then drives so many to migrate here. Of course we need an infrastructure in place to separate those with credible asylum claims from those who need to immigrate through other legal means. But nothing we do on the level of symptom will fundamentally solve the problem until we address the extreme poverty and drug cartel violence in countries from which people are seeking escape. We need to address the forces that are driving people to seek refuge here in such massive numbers to begin with. Then and only then will we be able to carve a new path forward. That includes far more support to Latin American countries seeking to improve their economies. It also includes an end to America’s Drug War,  which actually aids the drug cartels by providing them a huge black market in the United States. #ANewBeginning

There’s nothing like costly TV/online ads but guess what’s equally powerful- Support of the mainstream media and top-tier celebrities There aren’t many ways left to win the nomination weeks before the first primaries. I hope she absolutely gets them whatever that takes.

Get on Biden’s team. Much of what you say is great, but you do no one any good as his opponent.

So your solution is to throw money at Latin America and allow a free fall of drugs into every country? And then what you're going to vote in the cocaine caucus to Congress? The black market is not only in the US. How can someone write this intelligently yet sounds like a rock?

Don’t forget that the changing climate is a big contributing factor to this migration. It’s driving the crop failures- and even causing some of the violence as hungry people can be violent people. 😔

As demands fuel black market trade the only way to ease the War On Drugs is legalization and voluntary rehab. Big Pharma legally becomes our connection. Crimelords will find new ways to make $ and ppl will still be seeking asylum. Corporate America's Greedy Fingers r everywhere
