Even if we agree that Israel was justified in trying to destroy Hamas' military capability, there is no moral justification for what this war has cost the Palestinian people in terms of civilian casualties. Moreover, this war has only added to a hatred that will last for generations, producing more harm to everyone. 1/3

The world doesn't work on moral justifications, it works on survival. Try analyzing WW2 in the same way for a deeper appreciation of what Israel is doing right now.

I have. And btw, WW2 was absolutely driven by moral justifications as much as by survival.

Marianne - Japan killed about 2,500 Americans in its attack on Pearl Harbor and in response the US killed more than half a million Japanese civilians. They were killed to make a point, not out of any moral justification. Same story with German civilians.

Civilian deaths, although equally tragic, in Germany while fighting German Nazis are equally justified as civilian deaths while fighting Hamas Nazis. What's the difference?

Millions of German civilians were killed in WWII. Would you have stoped Allied attacks on Germany to prevent that? How is Gaza different?
So you support allowing this to happen again and again? If this terrorist army was on our border you would be ok with that?
I鈥檓 sorry? What? Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the result of a thorough moral assessment of wiping entire civilian cities off the map? They were a proportionate and morally justified response, unlike Israel鈥檚 current action? That鈥檚 a hell of a take.

For the US and UK, yes. The French handed over a large percentage of their Jews to the Nazis. It was survival for them. And Stalin killed more people than Hitler, so not moral on that end either.
