No matter what we think of Donald Trump politically, he must be treated fairly by our justice system. Equal treatment before the law not only means that everyone is held accountable, but also that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Trump has not been proven guilty of insurrection in a court of law, and a ruling based on nothing but that opinion is stepping onto a very slippery slope.

Lmao what? It's a constitutional provision which a higher court has made a judgement on. We'll see how it goes. Uncommon Marianne L.

I say this is an L because it seems like you are conceding that this is a political persecution. It is not.

No, I'm not even saying that. I'm saying it's a grey area and it should give all of us pause, no matter what we think of Donald Trump.

this is also a matter of what we think of the constitution which is really very clear on this . keeping in mind that we all watched and are watching this in real time .. here is a question, do reality and the law of the land have anything to do with each other ?

It's mostly the preface which gives me that impression. Thank you for your clarity.

Sure seems like political persecution when there is only a hearing behind those doors, no subpoenas no cross-examination no representation. And that by four democratic appointed judges.

Indeed. What people don’t realize is the more we remove the rights granted to all of us by the constitution, the more we allow for the possibility of totalitarian rule… that could be by any party leader once the precedence of bypassing due process has been set.
