No matter what we think of Donald Trump politically, he must be treated fairly by our justice system. Equal treatment before the law not only means that everyone is held accountable, but also that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Trump has not been proven guilty of insurrection in a court of law, and a ruling based on nothing but that opinion is stepping onto a very slippery slope.

Lmao what? It's a constitutional provision which a higher court has made a judgement on. We'll see how it goes. Uncommon Marianne L.

That's the point. They made a ruling on someone's guilt although that person had not been proven guilty in a court of law.

The injustice is that you, Biden (highly unpopular!) and RFK Jr. didn’t get a single debate!
The Judge is a court of Law and he found him guilty.
They held a trial. The Court found, based on the evidence that he did engage in insurrection.
There is no requirement for that. They are the court of law and have found him guilty of it. Did you know that a judge can be a trier of fact?
Marianne, the people you are trying to placate to in the democratic party are nothing more than ruthless authoritarians who will eventually come for you for daring to oppose their establishment puppet. Please see through this
Never mind proven guilty, he was never even charged.
Hello. And what about the destruction of this country going on because we have a president who to protect and defend but is not doing so. He is guilty too by opinion.
The criminal standard of beyond a reasonable doubt (needed for a guilty finding) doesn't apply here. Trump was found by the CO court to have engaged in an insurrection using a different standard.
Conviction is not required according to the constitution. And we all witnessed the insurrection attempt.

Do you think all of the Confederates this kept out of our government were tried and convicted? Of course not. It doesn’t say in the amendment that the insurrection has to be proven in court. Trump is clearly guilty, and there is no need to wait for it to be proven in court.
