No matter what we think of Donald Trump politically, he must be treated fairly by our justice system. Equal treatment before the law not only means that everyone is held accountable, but also that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Trump has not been proven guilty of insurrection in a court of law, and a ruling based on nothing but that opinion is stepping onto a very slippery slope.

Lmao what? It's a constitutional provision which a higher court has made a judgement on. We'll see how it goes. Uncommon Marianne L.

Replying to @tsgrissom17
That's the point. They made a ruling on someone's guilt although that person had not been proven guilty in a court of law.

Is that not allowed or something? Explain!
Keep moving forward Williamson, let the legacy media fade away as people start to realize.

Could you please READ section 3 of the 14th Amendment? Please, before you open your mouth to speak about things you don't know. It is a LEGAL matter, not a political matter. The court can rule on Legal matter, not the voters. Section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability. The above Section 3 clearly describes Trump can be disqualify by a court of law. There is NO CONVICTION of insurrection required. None of the Confederate Generals, Soldiers or their President had been CONVICTED of insurrection neither. Election is a matter for each state. Therefore, each state's Supreme Court is within in legal jurisdiction to disqualify any candidate that fits the description of Section 3. If we don't abide by our Constitution, then what kind of a kangaroo country are we?

Trump hasn’t even been charged with ‘insurrection’….a three hour riot with no weapons confiscated is hardly an insurrection. The real insurrection started with the FBI’s involvement in the Russian Hoax.

Read the amendment, if it required a conviction it would say so and it does not.

14A is quite clear. A trial and a conviction aren't required.

Hasn't even been charged with insurrection. We must all live in reality. The truly scary part is that multiple courts have ginned this whole thing up based on nothing. What else can they do? Seems limitless. We will soon reminisce about freedom.
