No matter what we think of Donald Trump politically, he must be treated fairly by our justice system. Equal treatment before the law not only means that everyone is held accountable, but also that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Trump has not been proven guilty of insurrection in a court of law, and a ruling based on nothing but that opinion is stepping onto a very slippery slope.

Lmao what? It's a constitutional provision which a higher court has made a judgement on. We'll see how it goes. Uncommon Marianne L.

That's the point. They made a ruling on someone's guilt although that person had not been proven guilty in a court of law.

The courts are obviously biased. It means if they don’t rule on law or are not held accountable for their actions then there is NO law. This turns out bad for lots of people….
Exactly. Imagine if it were anyone else, say a family member and an accusation was enough to decide their fate. Due process under the law for all. I would also like to see the framework or definition of the word insurrection. I’ve heard bits and pieces but this causes confusion
Pretty sure they did that with Derek Chauvin too… because “politics”.
It was a ruling of guilt
I may be wrong here, but isn’t the Supreme Court of Colorado a court of law? While it has not been tried, they are a court making a ruling.
State judges side stepped the Constitution in 2020 to install Biden so they are trying to do it again. But this is a different case. There is no COVID to use as a pretext.
No. Criminal guilt is different from wrongdoing specified by the Constitution which bars office holding. The same bad acts can subject a person to different consequences in different forums.
They made a ruling based on all the evidence against him put before them that was overwhelming in its amount.
