No matter what we think of Donald Trump politically, he must be treated fairly by our justice system. Equal treatment before the law not only means that everyone is held accountable, but also that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Trump has not been proven guilty of insurrection in a court of law, and a ruling based on nothing but that opinion is stepping onto a very slippery slope.

It wasn't a criminal trial. It was a hearing to determine his eligibility to run for office. It was a civil trial.

Thank you for saying this out loud. It should be beyond obvious. It’s a bedrock principle of civilization. And as you know, what you do to others can be done to you.

Read through Section 3 of 14A and post where it requires a Criminal Or Civil credit against Any of the 8 people previously disqualified under 14A, Section 3. Then go read the judicial decision in the Lower Court in Colorado that Found him to have Violated 14A, Section 3 and try to explain how a States Right to determine Ballot access and eligibility isn’t Protected by the 10th Amendment. Then explain why you are running against a Sitting President from your own Party.

This is the kind of sentiment we need to see from both parties.
