No matter what we think of Donald Trump politically, he must be treated fairly by our justice system. Equal treatment before the law not only means that everyone is held accountable, but also that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Trump has not been proven guilty of insurrection in a court of law, and a ruling based on nothing but that opinion is stepping onto a very slippery slope.

Lmao what? It's a constitutional provision which a higher court has made a judgement on. We'll see how it goes. Uncommon Marianne L.

That's the point. They made a ruling on someone's guilt although that person had not been proven guilty in a court of law.

You are a paid asset of Putin. You are NOT a Democrat. You are NOT an honest person of integrity. The 14th Amendment says nothing about being “convicted” of insurrection. Donald Trump plotted and incited a coup to remain in power illegally. You are a disgrace to the human race.

Because a lawsuit was filed by Republicans voters in Colorado, a trial was held in a court of law, evidence was presented, Mr. Trump was represented by counsel of his choosing and a decision rendered. The decision was made on the basis of “clear and convincing” evidence.

A higher court IS a court of law. They have determined that Trump was involved in insurrection. Notwithstanding, a “guilty verdict” is not necessary. Just that the person “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” which Trump did. A higher court said so. #TrumpDisqualified
