Even if we agree that Israel was justified in trying to destroy Hamas' military capability, there is no moral justification for what this war has cost the Palestinian people in terms of civilian casualties. Moreover, this war has only added to a hatred that will last for generations, producing more harm to everyone. 1/3

Whether Netanyahu convinced Biden this war was an appropriate strategy, whether Biden encouraged him or whether he simply went along - it was and is both morally and strategically indefensible. Every day the war has gone on has been a humanitarian abomination and disservice to both Palestinians and Israelis alike. 2/3

What can be done? We could cut off full financial and military aid to Israel, the war would continue. Sanctions on Israel, the war would continue. The only thing that we can do to save the Palestinian people is to figure out a way to get Hamas to surrender. Short of that there is nothing that can be done.
