It’s connected to the codependent entrancement by which many Democrats continue to allow the party to be hollowed out of its moral authority - not only on this but on other issues as well. Biden calls himself the climate President because of healthy green investments in the Inflation Reduction Act, but he has given more oil drilling permits than even Trump did plus he okayed the Willow project. Those two things together completely nullify the benefits of the IRA investments. The Democratic Party should be the conduit for the sense of urgency Kalmus says is lacking. But they don’t have to be because too few hold them accountable. Major environmental voices continue to go along, to accept the betrayal of the climate movement with nothing stronger than whining on twitter when in fact there is a candidate arguing everything they say they wish for. Some groups have even endorsed him. The silent conspirators are everywhere.
This is really strange and we should be puzzled by it. Why doesn't the self-preservation instinct kick in? Do people who say they believe climate science kind of NOT believe it on some level? What explains the total lack of any urgency? It's a real mystery of human psychology.

Right now, Trump must NOT be in office again. I fully support Biden. I doubt there would be any elections again if Trump regains office.

@NathanJRobinson, the lack of Urgency for climate issues is that The People have no power. We are ruled by capitalism, the rich and their corporations—that machine has all the power, including government power. We cannot tackle climate under the power structure of capitalism.

i don't understand why you run as a democrat? why not run as an independent? do you believe in the party? or the two-party system? i remember when Ross Perot disrupted that system, then pulled out. perhaps he was a "plant". #FreedomOfReligion #FreedomFromReligion #FreePalestine
